Unearthed Toronto 201704 Mar - 06 Mar
From Idea to Prototype on Resource Challenges in just a Weekend
This competition has finished.
Geo Data Tool
Can you consolidate exploration data from multiple sources in a meaningful way?
To make informed exploration and investment decisions, Barrick relies on many different data sources such as public domain data and press releases from mineral exploration and mining companies, government reports and surveys, and academic research.
Barrick might miss out on a new discovery from a exploration company in South America, because they don't see their press release quick enough, or don't have suitable visibility of historic information. It is often difficult to get a full and meaningful picture of all the existing information and any innovative solution would most likely have significant impact across the whole mining industry.
The full challenge statement can be viewed and downloaded here.
You can also view a quick video of Barrick's Andrew Scott, Senior Director, Digital Mining introducing the challenge here.
All participants in the hackathon must be signed up on Eventbrite to take part in #UnearthedToronto.
