The Mine Maestro - monitoring the status of all open cut assets to inform and advise supervisors and dispatchers
Develop a system which can process real time information from assets in the pit to assist the supervisors and dispatchers in taking agile and assertive decisions.
Currently we generate a significant amount of data but the systems we have don't allow our supervisors and dispatchers to utilise it efficiently during the shift to maximise the productivity of their crews. Imagine a system that can monitor and optimise our trucks circuits and in case it finds a circuit that is not balanced sends a message to dispatch and supervisor with the possible causes and solutions.
This system should be performing comparisons, analysing trends, forecasting and giving recommendations. Think of it as the "best buddy" of dispatchers and supervisors.
An example could be: notify that a truck circuit is below the average speed, due to roughness of the main ramp being too high, send a grader to rectify.
Can we have the best operator in the seat for 80% of the time?
Can we optimise truck circuits in real time to for dump congestion, queue time, circuit speed, road roughness, trucks across circuits, etc.?
Can we identify deviations in performance and give recommendation to rectify?
Impact & Value
$9.5M if the system can improve by 1% Met Coal OC overburden removal
System could be principle is replicable and scaled across underground as well as other open cut
