Innovative Use of Government Geoscience Data in South Australia: A Revised Strato-Tectonic Model & New "ZAI" Geochemical Tool to revitalise Brownfields & Greenfields Minerals Exploration in the Gawler Craton
A) A strato-tectonic model is developed with 32 years of local exploration knowledge & latest research papers. The main outcomes are: 1) The transition from subduction to extension produced a super caldera and the Olympic Metallogenic Event (OME) 2) The overlap of inherited subduction geology and subsequent position within the caldera created a zoned distribution comprising HIOCGs on the eastern and northern shoulders of the caldera and local grabens, MIOCGs in the caldera and epithermal/porphyry systems on the southern and probably the western shoulders of the caldera.
