Improving Safety for Forklift Operations
This competition has finished.
As a qualified forklift operator I know well the blind spots during operation. The most glaring of these is judging the height of the tines from the ground perspective. A relatively low cost simple solution would be to install a camera to the base of the backrest. By doing so the operator gains a direct view on where their tines are. It can be mounted between the tines underneath the backrest. The tines provide mechanical protection from below, while the backrest provides mechanical protection from in front.
