Data Science Project Manager

Are you passionate about helping teams realise the value of data science? Do you love working with subject matter experts to help them solve their problems with data? Would you be excited to foster a growing global community of data scientists solving problems to make industry more sustainable?

As our Data Science Project Manager, you’ll work closely with our industrial partners, to design, develop and run
projects with our community. Equal parts technical practice and communication, this role will suit you if you are as comfortable working with customers as you are at knocking out predictive models.

Location: Perth as a preferred location, but open to you being located elsewhere around Australia. We are advocates of a remote first working approach, with face-to-face connection days (usually Wednesdays)

What will the first 12 months in the role look like?

  • Lead data science project activities
  • Focus on defining success and designing appropriate goals and outcomes.
  • Design projects based on value creation and impact for our customers and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with our stakeholders to identify and communicate the requirements and goals of the projects.
  • Be open minded about data science approaches, and problem-solve to help uncover the best approach to solve our customers issues.
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Work closely with our product development team to inform our data science product roadmap.
  • Apply analytical skills and problem solving skills needed to manage multiple factors on a project simultaneously
  • Demonstrate business analytics to meet customer needs

What do you bring?

  • Experience working in a multi-skilled team delivering data science products or projects.
  • Experienced with applying machine learning methods in a practical real world environment.
  • Expertise in statistical analysis techniques, e.g., regression modelling, hypothesis testing, experimental testing
  • Experience of managing projects with personal accountability.
  • Experience of working with standard enterprise cloud computing services and MLOps frameworks: MS Azure, AWS, Databricks etc
  • Experience across packaged and bespoke systems and infrastructure.
  • Management skills to manage one or more complex projects simultaneously
  • Strong team working skills across with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to translate and communicate between data science approaches and the problem experienced by sponsors or subject matter experts.
  • Strong focus on driving excellence and providing high quality experiences for our stakeholders.
  • 5+ years in data science project management
  • Other relevant experience in a related technical field (application development,
    deployment/implementation and infrastructure)
  • Work experience in industrial industries (e.g. mining, oil and gas, utilities) preferred

Communications and Project Coordinator

The Communications and Project Coordinator role supports our team to facilitate and deliver high value experiences for our customers and our community as they interact with us, our programs and our software.

Location: Perth as a preferred location, but open to you being located elsewhere around Australia. We are advocates of a remote first working approach, with face-to-face connection days (usually Wednesdays and as required for events).

Role purpose:  To facilitate and deliver high impact experiences for our customers and our community as they interact with us, our programs and our software.

Reporting to:  Head of Operations

Experience: Anywhere from a couple of years of experience or more with plenty of opportunity for growth and learning. 

What will the first 12 months in the role look like?

  • work with our Head of Operations and Account Manager to help design, create and deliver exceptional engagement experiences for our customers and our community;
  • support the design and delivery of challenges with our Account Manager;
  • engage with our customers and stakeholders through the delivery of challenges, including communication of regular updates;
  • write engaging external communications for each challenge, including for our website and community outreach emails and messaging;
  • research businesses, researchers, experts and online communities to source participants for each of our challenges;
  • support our community through communicating with them via social media channels and our forums, to answer their questions and encourage them to connect and engage;
  • Use insights from the challenges and community engagement to formulate strategies to inform how we provide additional support and value to our customers and community
  • manage our email outreach and nurture campaigns and engagement with new members;
  • report back to the Operations team on a monthly basis on community activity and growth and propose initiatives to expand this.

Sales Representative

Be our first dedicated resource to strategically build our sales pipeline and team, to develop our enterprise selling capability and create lasting and meaningful relationships with aligned customers

Reporting to the Managing Director, the role is perfect for someone with a couple of years of experience in sales and the itch to build something and see hard work come to fruition.

 

What will the first 12 months in the role look like?

  • Building on existing relationships but seeking out new and valuable opportunities to create sales meetings for our MD
  • Reviewing our existing processes and Sales Playbook and challenging us to make it better (and actually making it better in the process)
  • Developing a pipeline of opportunities and relationships with the appropriate Senior Executives to match
  • Developing a deep understanding of our business and relevant market opportunities and the ability to succinctly articulate to potential clients how we can add value and provide positive transformation in their business
