EXPERIENCE
- Founding Partner at Global IO, which specialises in implementation of Integrated Operations for large-scale, complex supply chains
- Instrumental in the strategic implementation of BHP Coal’s integrated remote operations centre (IROC) in Brisbane
- Over 15 years’ experience in operations (including 10 years at Rio Tinto Iron Ore and 3 years at BHP Billiton), with the skills required to lead high performing teams in non-traditional operating environments
AREAS OF EXPERTISE
Through his experience in integrated operations, Dominic is able to leverage the best out of people, processes and technologies.
He often sees innovative ideas that have had limited thought put into their application. Having a strong background in supply chain management allows him to provide insight into how products and services will be used.
Dominic has extensive knowledge of how to best approach integrating ideas into large organisations, plus well established networks in both the vendor and operator areas.
MOTIVATION
The ability to assist entrepreneurs who are trying to revolutionise the mining and resources sector proves very satisfying for Dominic.
He believes in the need to shake up ways of working, as the process of mining has barely changed in 100 years.
GIVING BACK
Dominic finds it extremely rewarding being a part of peoples’ journey as they reach for their goals, and enjoys being present for various milestones that they accomplish along the way.
He also appreciates the way mentoring challenges his own thoughts and beliefs and finds it a rich and insightful experience.
SUCCESS STORY
Dominic mentored the team at Newton Labs in 2015, assisting them with their product development.
Newton Labs went on to become the first graduates of Unearthed’s Accelerator Program.
They won the WA Innovator of the Year Award and are currently delivering a large bolder detection product to their first customers on hard rock mines in Western Australia.
