EXPERIENCE

In her current role, Kirsten is focused on reducing BHP’s operational emissions through leading transformative projects across BHP operations, supply chain, and customers in the area of low emissions technology development.

Prior to this, she was the WA State Manager at the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the CEO of the Sustainable Energy Association of Australia (SEA).

Kirsten directly contributed to growing the WA startup ecosystem in her previous role as a director of the Founder Institute.

Kirsten understands that these startups often face many setbacks in the early stages, and she is well equipped to educate, facilitate processes and make helpful connections to accelerate their prototypes.

She finds it very rewarding to be able to fine tune an idea to help it get to the next level.

Kirsten enjoys building confidence in budding entrepreneurs and says that it is extremely satisfying to see them achieve some wins.

SUCCESS STORY

Kirsten had the opportunity to mentor Newton Labs in 2015, who went on to become the first graduates of Unearthed’s Accelerator Program. They won the WA Innovator of the Year Award and are currently delivering a large bolder detection product to their first customers on hard rock mines in Western Australia.
