EXPERIENCE
- CEO of Mine Vision Systems, a leading 3D Vision and Mapping Software Company
- Co-Founder and Director of METS Ignited, an industry-led, government-funded Industry Growth Centre for the Mining Equipment Technology and Services (METS) sector
- Former Global VP of Technology and Innovation at Gold Fields, with twenty-five years’ experience in the resource sector, working mainly in the process control, engineering, technology and innovation space
AREAS OF EXPERTISE
Paul has a sound knowledge of fix automation, field robotics & visualisation, idea adoption techniques, and innovation in conservative organisations. He is also on the board of directors at Unearthed Solutions.
In the last 5 years Paul has been particularly focused on innovation processes and techniques in the mining industry.
He has been involved in five startups to date from very large multinational organisations at a very senior level right through to brand new companies and startups.
Paul has vast experience in how to deal with large organisations in a business to business approach and can provide advice on:
- Integration
- Procurement
- Who to talk to in big organisations
- Program and startup company structure
- Capital raising
MOTIVATION
Paul believes that you come to a point in your career where you want to give back to help entrepreneurs avoid the pitfalls that you have already faced along the way.
He appreciates that some startups feel that they have no one to go to at times. When Paul has gained insights into how to do things differently, he finds it rewarding to help people like himself.
Mentoring has been an interest of Paul’s for some time; he currently mentors with Unearthed and Austmine, and has done so internally with Gold Fields in the past.
