- Former Sales and Marketing Manager at Maptek, creating a market for 3D graphic solutions to geological and mine planning requirements. The company went from a dozen employees to 250+ during his tenure

Richard has a deep understanding of the technical, marketing, sales and business interactions required to take an idea to market.
He has experience on both the corporate and the supplier side of the industry in the interaction of sales and marketing of a product and an understanding of the business objectives of each party.
Richard is able to work with startups to help them understand the requirements and motivations of the resource industry.
MOTIVATION
Richard is keen to use his 40 years’ experience in the mining industry and 25 years in mining software to assist startups and new players in the field.
He enjoys working with highly motivated developers and entrepreneurs to realise the value of their energy and ideas.

He is passionate about technology, innovation and growing the ecosystem in Australia.
SUCCESS STORY
Richard mentored the team at Newton Labs in 2015, providing assistance with conditioning, marketing and advice about how to get your foot in the door with large mining companies.
Newton Labs went on to become the first graduates of Unearthed’s Accelerator Program.
They won the WA Innovator of the Year Award and are currently delivering a large bolder detection product to their first customers on hard rock mines in Western Australia.
