Origin headlines Brisbane hackathon as digital disruption takes on the energy resources sector

Unearthed is excited to be returning to Brisbane for the third consecutive year, inviting Queensland's top entrepreneurs, innovators and startups to prototype solutions to energy resources sector challenges provided by first time hackathon participants Origin Energy.

Highlights of the release:

  • Origin will headline the Unearthed Brisbane hackathon, providing 3 energy sector challenges and datasets.
  • Industry Growth Centre NERA (National Energy Resources Australia) will support teams across the weekend through mentorship from subject matter experts such as General Manager Simon Orton, a Former Engineering Manager at BHP Billiton and Chief Executive Officer Miranda Taylor.
  • Unearthed Brisbane will feature an all female keynote speaker lineup, including Queensland Chief Scientist Professor Suzanne Miller, Origin's Chief Development Officer Maia Schweizer, River City Labs CEO Peta Ellis, and Unearthed Accelerator Program Director Kathy Bunce.
  • River City Labs and The Queensland Startup Precinct will jointly host the Unearthed Brisbane hackathon from 21 - 23 April 2017.
